What is NEET and the Full Form of NEET?
NEET full form – National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, NEET is the single entrance exam for medical school admissions at the undergraduate level. After the 12th grade, the most popular medical course is MBBS. Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery is the full form of MBBS.
Admission to BDS, BAMS, BSMS, BUMS, BHMS, and BVSc & AH programs is available through the NEET test in addition to MBBS. NTA plans to conduct NEET in an offline format on August 1, 2021, for the 2021 session. According to the most recent NEET-UG 2021 news, the NEET 2021 exam pattern would remain the same.
Admission to 542 medical, 313 dental, 15 AIIMS, 2 JIPMER, 914 AYUSH, and 47 BVSc & AH colleges will be provided based on NEET 2021. Last year, 13.66 lakh registered applicants took the NEET UG exam out of the total registrations. Last year, just 7.71 lakh individuals qualified for the NEET paper out of the total number of candidates who applied.
NEET scope
The NEET score will be used for admission to the following schools:
- Seats from the All India Quota (AIQ) account for 15% of the total.
- Medical seats are subject to a quota of 85 % in the state.
- Universities that are both central and deemed
- Seats at private colleges with a state, management, or NRI quota
- quota seats in the central pool
- Seats at private medical schools that are unaided, assisted minority, and non-minority.
- Candidates who want to study MBBS or BDS in a foreign medical school must have this qualification.

NEET UG eligibility criteria by NTA
To take part in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test 2021, candidates must achieve the required eligibility standards. The NEET 2021 eligibility criteria include minimum and maximum age requirements, educational qualifications, qualifying exam subjects studied, qualifying exam status, category, and nationality.
- Candidates applying for NEET 2021 must be at least 17 years old as of December 31, 2021, to be considered for admission.
- Maximum age restriction: The maximum age limit for general candidates is 25 years.
- Candidates who are SC, ST, OBC-NCL, or PwD are eligible for 5-year age relaxation in the upper age limit. The Supreme Court, on the other hand, is still discussing the NEET exam’s upper age limit. All applicants are provisionally eligible to take the NEET-UG 2021 exam as a result of the Supreme Court’s ruling on April 29, 2019.
- NEET 2021 is open to Indian nationals, Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), Persons of Indian Origin (PIO), and Foreign Nationals.
- In 2021, candidates who have completed or are enrolled in a 10+2 or comparable program will be eligible to take the NEET examination.
- In order to apply for the NEET exam, aspirants must have studied physics, chemistry, biology/biotechnology, and English.
- Minimum qualifying exam scores: Candidates must earn at least 50% in physics, chemistry, and biology combined on the 10+2 qualifying exam. Candidates from the SC, ST and OBC-NCL categories must score at least 40%.
