Every time, a student reads a book, there is a question regarding the extent to which he/she will gain the return on the time and money that he/she is investing. This is due to the fact that the same book is also referred by 9 lakh other aspirants who are also preparing for UPSC. So, is there anything that can help you differentiate you from them?

Based on my experience in this field since 2014, this topic-wise breakup of both the Prelims and the Mains UPSC Civil Services previous year question papers of the last 25 years (1994-2019) (categorized with weightage) (4th ed) will help the students get an inference on what topics deserve more time and which ones relatively less. It will also give an inference regarding the source of the question, what triggered that question and relative changes in the trend and the pattern of the questions pertaining to that topic.

This compilation is based on my experiences with Salamuddin Ansari Sir, his team of lecturers and/or content development while working with Lukmaan IAS in New Delhi. My criteria is to cater highly filtered knowledge to the student and this compilation is just the beginning of it.

My efforts are aimed at training the students to aim at the cornea of the eyeball of the eye of that bird that is sitting on the tree. And not a vague or a muddled picture of the bird or the branches or the twigs or the leaves or the trees other associated birds sitting on the tree. In summary, this effort is to show the cornea of the round black eye of the bird to the students who are 100% dedicated to clear UPSC CSE exams. Just like Arjuna’s singular focus enabled him to achieve mastery of archery, I want my students to clear this exam in their very first attempt. This episode in Mahabharata is what inspired me the most and therefore the name of my coaching… Archer’ IAS Academy.
